FINE AND RARE BOSTON OR SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAPLE AND MAHOGANY DRESSING TABLE, featuring one-board rectangular top with notched-corners and molded-edge above single full drawer and three short drawers, framed by shaped skirt featuring shallow blocked center recess framed by likely original pendant acorn finials, the whole raised on elegant cabriole legs with peaked knees, applied returns ending in volutes, slender ankles, and finely articulated ball-and-claw feet. White pine secondary wood. Retains possibly original brasses and an old surface with mellow color. Circa 1770. 30 3/4" H, 34" x 20" top.

Condition

Very good overall condition with minor scattered wear and imperfections. Very minor repairs to drawer facings. Surface with moderate sun bleaching.
