FINE AND RARE PIEDMONT VIRGINIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT OPEN-TOP CORNER CUPBOARD, outstanding slender one-piece form with canted returns, the applied cove-molded cornice over three fixed open shelves above applied waist molding with single raised-panel door below, the whole raised on bold applied cut-out bracket-foot base. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retains original wrought-iron H-form hinges and an outstanding dry original surface. Fourth quarter 18th century. 91" H, 28" corner.

Condition

Very good overall original condition with minor scattered wear and cracks. Minor damage, loss, and old repairs to cornice at proper left return. Minor old repair to case at juncture with shelf on proper left end.
