FREE-BLOWN, CUT, AND PRESSED WHALE OIL / FLUID STAND LAMP, colorless, inverted teardrop font cut with 12 lower flutes, raised on a shouldered hollow-knop, ribbed stem and four-step base with extended round corners and prism interior, bladed wafer construction, period pewter collar. Fitted with a double-tube whale oil burner. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1830-1840. 10 7/8" H to top of collar, 3 1/2" SQ base.
Very good condition overall with interior wear/scratching to the font; vertical moderate sliver chip to one base corner. Some scattered annealing lines, as made.
