FRENCH SATINWOOD INLAID FERNERY / PLANTER, ovoid form with gilt metal handles, having applied gilt metal ormolu decorations and an original removable zinc liner. Together with a 13 1/8" x 9 1/4" continental gilt-brass planter with metal insert featuring relief images of putti including five in a shell-form cartouche with trident, stamped "HOSSON". Two pieces total. 19th century. 7 5/8" HOA. 7 1/4" DOA.

Condition

Satinwood planter with small split to top edge and several breaks to ormolu but present; brass planter with some minor scattered bending/denting and interior with some corrosion and discoloration.
