GEORGIAN AND OTHER BRITISH STERLING SILVER ARTICLES, LOT OF 15, comprising a pair of sugar tongs by James Beebe of London with an 1831 date mark, a pair of sugar tongs with shell grips by William Robertson Edmonstoun of Edinburgh having an 1822 date mark, a caddy spoon by Samuel Pemberton of Birmingham with an 1804 date mark having engraved decoration and a filigree inset to bowl, a small teaspoon by Duncan Urquhart & Naphtali Hart of London with a 1793 date mark and engraved decoration, a small cigarette case by Henry Perkins & Sons with a 1926 date mark having original interior straps and engraved "From / Mum & Dad / to Dave / 1927 to interior, a teaspoon with twist handle and a figural thistle tip having glass bloom by Crisford & Norris Ltd. of Birmingham with 1908 date mark, a fiddle-handled place fork by William Comyns & Sons Ltd. of London with a 1925 date mark, and a set of eight demitasse spoons by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd. of Birmingham with 1961 date marks. Each with a maker's mark and three to four hallmarks including sterling fineness mark, a city mark, a date mark, and/or a duty mark. Total weight: 8.840 ozt. Together with two silver pieces having possibly/probably pseudo British hallmarks consisting of a teaspoon and a salt spoon, total weight of 0.780 ozt. 17 pieces total. Late 18th, 19th, and 20th century. Cigarette case 3 1/8" x 2 1/8" OA.

Condition

Fair to very good overall condition with wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including dents, bending, nicks, and/or worn spots to engraved decoration; Edmonstoun tongs with a few short splits along edge of handle having possible repair; possible pseudo British teaspoon with moderate damage including a split to tip of bowl; salt spoon with a repair to handle.
