GERMAN METTLACH ST. FLORIAN CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 1786, having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations featuring scene depicting patron saint of firefighters extinguishing a fire engulfed town, pewter domed lid with figural ceramic dragon handle and thumbrest, 1/2 liter size. Impressed "METTLACH / VB" and "GESCHUTZT" marks to base with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 7 7/8" HOA.
