GERMAN NEOCLASSICAL-STYLE RETICULATED 0.800 SILVER CENTERPIECE / BASKET, having an ovoid well featuring wreath drop-ring handles with figural eagle terminals, raised on a tall tapered stem on an ovoid foot with bead-and-reel edges, all-over intricate and ornate decoration including scrolling acanthus leaves, foliate garlands, flowers, and cherubs, each side of well with oval medallion with one having personalized engraving of "ITS" initials. Top of foot marked "800" next to the post-1886 German reichsmark of a crown and crescent moon in addition to worn, possibly Hanau pseudo hallmarks. Total weight: 25.33 ozt. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 12" HOA, 8 1/2" x 6 3/4" OA rim.

Condition

Very good overall condition with minor wear and surface scratches, a heavy scratch to medallion with personalized engraving, some nicks and dents mostly being minor/small in size, possibly one or a few minor repairs.
