GORHAM AND J.E. CALDWELL STERLING SILVER SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS, LOT OF SIX,
comprising a set of four salt and pepper shakers by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI, and a pair of shakers by or retailed by J.E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia, PA having repousse decoration, engraved "WGA" initials, and clawed feet. Each piece with "STERLING" and maker's/retailer's marks. Total weight: 20.255 ozt.
Late 19th/20th century.
3 5/8" to 5 1/2" HOA.
Provenance: Property from a Youngstown, OH estate.
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including slight bending, nicks, one or a few dents, and/or worn spots to decoration; one Gorham shaker with cap frozen; one Caldwell shaker with interior oxidation from salt.
