HARRISON, PENNYBACKER, AND OTHER FAMILY, ROCKINGHAM / SHENANDOAH CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA RELATED TEXTILES AND ARTICLES, UNCOUNTED LOT, more than 15 pieces, including a pair of "half handers" long leather gloves with open fingers noted as belong to Lydia Frances "Fannie" Harrison, a piece of white cotton fabric with embroidery being noted as "a piece of [John H. Byrd's] grandmother [Frances Henry Jennings] Brock's wedding dress", a cream silk shawl with embroidery and fringe noted as belonging to "Coz. Kate Pennybacker's mother", a piece of cotton fabric with period ink signature of "A M Pennybacker", a shawl with printed paisley pattern and knotted wool fringe, various pieces of lace articles, and a bangle bracelet chatelaine accented by goldstone glass beads with three appendages including two with painted daisy decoration of a sheath holding a pair of small shears and a thread holder. Some pieces including hand-written notes, a few notes possibly placed with incorrect item. 19th/first half 20th century. Various sizes.

Condition

Fair to very good overall condition with expected wear, most pieces with other imperfections including toning, stains, tears/holes, losses, etc.; chatelaine with fugitive pink color, lacking one or two appendages.
