IMPORTANT ANTIQUARIAN NATIVE AMERICAN SIX-VOLUME SET, Henry R. Schoolcraft, Historical and Statistical Information, Respecting the History, Condition, and Prospects of the Indian Tribes of the United States: Collected and Prepared Under the Direction of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, per Act of Congress of March 3d, 1847. Philadelphia: Lippincott, 1851-1857. With nearly 300 maps/plates, some are hand-colored. Three with a presentation to Henri Bosch Spencer, Belgian Minister, two from Charles Eli Mix, Director of Indian Affairs, and one from Luke Lea, Commissioner of Indian Affairs. Three with original gilt-stamped boards, other three rebacked.
Mostly clean and tight interiors, one with partially broken interior hinges, some repairs to original bindings, volume 1 lacking 30 plates, and volume 4 lacking 18 plates. See the attached document or email info@jeffreysevans.com for a list of missing plates.
