JAMES RIVER / PETERSBURG, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated four-gallon capacity, elongated ovoid form with rounded rim, applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt three-petal, double-bloom flower to each side, additional cobalt to handle terminals. Possibly Henry Lowndes or Thomas and John Ducey, Petersburg, VA. Circa 1850. 16 1/8" H, 9" D rim.
Condition
Excellent undamaged condition.
