JANE LEW, WEST VIRGINIA ATTRIBUTED DECORATED STONEWARE JAR,
salt-glazed,
designated three-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, flat-top rounded rim, beaded neck ring, and applied arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt "3" flanked by three petal foliate decoration with double-dashed designs above and below.
Circa 1875.
13 7/8" HOA, 8 3/4" D rim.
Provenance: From the private collection of Robert Bruce, Charlotte County, VA.
Undamaged, having some minor paint splatter/specks. Manufacturing flaw including moderate sagging to one side of rim.
