LOS CASTILLO TAXCO MID-CENTURY MODERN FIGURAL SILVER-PLATED WATER PITCHER, in form of a bird bust with engraved textured exterior, having a short spout with top shield in form of a beak, each side having a large dark stone or glass round cabochon with inlay border for eyes, long curved handle set with green stone inlay. Underside marked "HECHO A / MANO" and "LOS CASTILLO / TAXCO" under an hand-etched name of "L. [?]. Janson", possibly being the designer or a former owner. Los Castillo, Taxco, Mexico. Mid/third quarter 20th century. 9 1/4" HOA.
Very good overall condition with minor wear, surface scratches, and nicks, a few scattered worn spots/losses to silver, one eye possibly reattached and having a spot of glue on inlay, possible area of glue/repair to stone on lower end of handle.
