MARY ANN VESSEY (SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA) FOLK ART "PEACEABLE KINGDOM" SCENE, oil on panel, depicting a pastoral landscape with stream and faint mountains in the background, featuring various animals including a leopard, lions, cows, a sheep, a lamb, a bear, and a cat, as well as figures in period clothing of a woman holding a basket of apples and children, signed in lower right corner, also titled, signed, and dated to back. Housed in probably original artist-made painted frame, featuring lambs in the four corners and verses from Isaiah, chapter 11 written on each side. Dated 1986. 22 1/4" x 15 3/8" sight, 27 1/2" x 20 1/2" OA.
Very good overall visual condition, frame with minor wear and some fading to writing.
