JEWELED BRASS FRAME KEROSENE HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, deep cranberry opalescent Dew Drop umbrella-form shade fitted with two brass and jeweled overlay inserts, cast-brass rigging with two large, scalloped edge discs with stylized scrolls and jewels connected to a rope bar, cast-metal leveler, motor cover with motor, shade crown, brass drop-in font, and cranberry Spot-Optic smoke bell. Fitted with a period slip burner, colorless slip chimney, and cut prisms in a variety of colors and shapes, with hanging openwork brass orbs. Meriden Malleable Iron Company. Circa 1888. Shade 6" H, 14" D fitter.

Excellent condition overall with some scattered minor solder/glue repairs, font vase having a few minor glue repairs to the backside of the edge; some high-point roughness to the jewels, some brass articles having some minor denting and or/minor wear; shade undamaged; some prisms or hanging articles perhaps having some minor imperfections such as flaking and/or denting. Shade having many minute tool marks to the fitter and roughness to the top rim, all as made.
