MICHAEL BONNE (INDIANA) TIN / SHEET-IRON CANOE, Native American-style, stamped "MICHAEL BONNE" on one seat rest. Together with an Old Tow-style canoe model, and a birch example inscribed to the interior "INDIAN MADE". Three pieces total. 20th century. 6" H, 21" L.
Provenance: From the private collection of Jack D. Smith, Rockville, MD.
Catalogue Note: Michael Bonne, a coppersmith, first gained national attention for his cookie-cutters.
Condition
Very good overall condition, with scattered areas of minor to moderate rust. Old Town-style example with a minor split.
