NEW ENGLAND PIGGIN-TYPE BUTTER CHURN, stave and riveted metal band construction, retains original red-painted surface, removable cover, fitted with a handle and a later period dasher. First half 19th century. 29 1/4" HOA.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by Bennington Museum, Bennington, VT. All proceeds will go toward the museum's collections acquisition fund.

Condition

Good condition, expected heavy usage wear and imperfections, metal bands with significant rust, some splits and pitting along with being loose, cover slightly ill-fitting.
