NEW ENGLAND WILLIAM AND MARY PAINTED PINE CHEST OF DRAWERS, two short drawers over four full drawers, each with thumb-molded profile and retaining possibly original engraved brasses, flanked by solid ends, raised on turned bun-type feet. Old drawer bottom (probably a 19th century replacement) with inscription "Miss Louise B. Varney / North Berwick / Maine". Retains likely original moldings and early red-painted surface. Probably Maine. First half 18th century. 39 1/2" H, 36" W, 22" D.
