OG-1B PEACOCK EYE OBLONG PRESSED OPEN SALT, colorless, plain rim, flat base with 12-point star. Very rare. Probably Pittsburgh area. 1830-1845. 1 7/8" H, 2 1/4" x 3 1/4".

Catalogue Note: This is only the second example of this salt that we have sold, suggesting it is rarer than designated by Neal.
Very good condition, rim with a chip to exterior not affecting the profile, one corner with moderate mold roughness causing a small loss, vertical corners with mold roughness, moderate shallow chip to top of one base corner, not affecting the profile.
