PAIR OF BRITISH GEORGIAN INLAID MAHOGANY KNIFE BOXES, each block-front form with fitted interior retaining likely original silver escutcheon and ring handle (not tested), lid featuring pictorial bird and foliage within elliptical reserve, barberpole stringing throughout. Pine secondary wood and substrate. Old surface. Late 18th/early 19th century. Each 15" HOA, 8 3/4" WOA, 10 3/4" DOA.
Good to fair overall condition with minor to moderate wear, cracks, buckling, and losses to veneers and inlay. Possible restoration to interiors.
