PAIR OF MOSES CHAPMAN (AMERICAN, 1783-1821) FOLK ART HOLLOW-CUT SILHOUETTES, each with embossed "CHAPMAN / Siccauit" blindstamp at lower edge, housed under glass in a period molded gilt wood frame, retaining old typed label verso identifying sitters and indicating provenance from the "Maurier Collection" in 1948. Together with a period printed handbill advertising Chapman's services, framed. Three pieces total. Probably Massachusetts. Early 19th century. Each silhouette 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" sight, 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" OA.
