PAIR OF VIRGINIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT SIDE CHAIRS, square crestrail with cupid's bow lower profile over pierced vasiform splat, above a trapezoidal seat frame, raised on square legs joined by a stretcher base. Retains an old surface with warm color. Fourth quarter 18th century. 37 1/4" HOA, 18" H seat, 15" D.

Very good overall condition, one example with piece of seat frame detached but present and with an old repair to proper left front leg, each slip seat with old breaks, minor to moderate areas of discoloration to upholstery, and with areas of expected minor wear.
