PENNSYLVANIA PAINT-DECORATED PINE BLANKET CHEST, rectangular strap-hinged lid over dovetailed case with lidded till, raised on cut-out bracket feet. Interior of lid with likely original fraktur drawing featuring exotic birds, possibly by Friederich Krebs. Poplar secondary wood. Retains an old paint-decorated surface, featuring opposing polychrome astragal panels to front exhibiting owner's initials and birth date. Dated 1783. 24" H, 52 1/2" W, 23" D.
