PILLAR-MOLDED MOLASSES PITCHER, colorless, pyriform body with eight ribs, applied wide concave neck ring, and bold applied solid handle, raised on an applied, funnel-like sloping foot with a rough pontil mark. Original Britannia hinged lid. Pittsburgh area, probably Bakewell, Pears & Co. 1850-1870. 10 1/2" H, 3 1/2" D foot.

Condition

Undamaged with some light surface wear and interior residue. Having a small open bubble to the lower body, as made.
