PILLAR MOLDED-TYPE KEROSENE STAND LAMP, colorless, ball-form font, pillar molded/ribbed stem terminating in loops, hexagonal triple-step foot, No.1 single-rib collar. Fitted with a period setup comprising an E. F. Jones No. 1 lip burner, thumbwheel impressed "E. F. JONES/ BOSTON / PATENT / MAY 4. 1858 / JANUARY 11. 1859.", interior fitted with a Merrill's air director, marked "R. S. MERRILL'S PATENT.JUNE 14. 1859", brass stamped 3 1/8" D shade ring, and a colorless and frosted Oregon shade with heavy floral and foliage engraving under a row of punties. Non-period colorless chimney. Third quarter 19th century. 17 1/2" HOA to top of shade, 10 3/4" H to top of collar, 5 1/2" DOA foot. Shade 5 7/8" HOA, 3" D fitter.
Excellent condition, font and stem undamaged, foot edges and corners with some scattered minute flakes/roughness. Burner with some minor repairs to base at wick tube juncture, shade and chimney undamaged, shade fitter with normal as-made roughness.
