PRESSED ACANTHUS LEAF WHALE OIL / FLUID STAND LAMP, translucent starch blue above alabaster/clambroth, base having a lightly sanded surface, small size, dome-top font with 12 protruding petals below the shoulder and a short hexagonal extension with 12 beads below, raised on a 12-petal-top acanthus leaf standard and double-step square base beaded between the steps, wafer construction, fine-line brass collar with a fitted adapter. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1840-1860. 11 1/4" H to top of collar, 4" SQ base.
