R. & W. WILSON, PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA ROCOCO-STYLE SILVER-PLATED CRUET / CASTER STAND, floriform base, raised on four shell feet with scrolled legs, top with five gadroon round holders for bottles/caster, one side with applied scrolled plaque having engraved "LC" initials, center featuring an attached stem with a scrolled handle to top. Base impressed with "R & W. WILSON." maker's mark for the partnership of brothers Robert and William Wilson of Philadelphia, PA (active 1825-1846). Together with five items, possibly original or together by association, comprising three matching silver-plated pieces of a shaker pair and a sugar caster/muffineer, and a pair of colorless cut-glass bottles with applied silver-plated spouts having hinged lids and scrolled handles, all unmarked. Six pieces total. Second quarter 19th century. Stand 10 3/4" HOA.


Stand in very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, having slight bending causing it to sit slightly unevenly, some worn spots to silver; remainder in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, and worn spots to silver, sugar caster with a few dents, one shaker with slight bend to foot causing it to wobble, glass with a few flakes and nicks to pattern and to base edges, otherwise undamaged.
