Second Edition; and Sterling/Campbell, (3-5) Our Own First, Second, and Third Readers: For the Use of Schools and Families. and (6) Our Own Spelling Book: For the Use of Schools and Families.; each Greensboro, NC: Sterling, Campbell & Albright, (3-5) 1862, (1 & 2) 1863, and (6) 1865. Original cloth-backed printed boards.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation and future acquisitions.

Condition

Each appears to be unused, some typical foxing/toning, one with small area of roughness to page edges, one with tear to flyleaf, two with slight damping, bindings with some light wear to edges. Spelling Book with trimmed lower edge of title and preface pages, not affecting the text, probably as bound. Each with library stamp to front pastedown or flyleaf, no other library markings.
