REED & BARTON "LA SPLENDIDE" STERLING SILVER 87-PIECE FLATWARE SET, pattern designed by Charles A. Bennett in 1902, each with an engraved "T" to handle, comprising 12 place forks, 12 fish forks, 11 cocktail forks, 12 gumbo soup spoons, 12 teaspoons, six serving/tablespoons, ten butter spreaders, and 12 hollow-handled place knives. Each with "STERLING" and maker's marks, many pieces with retailer's mark for W.W. Wattles & Sons of Pittsburgh, PA. Total weight excluding hollow-handled place knives: 103.705 ozt. Reed & Barton, Taunton, MA. First half 20th century. 5 5/8" to 10" LOA.
Provenance: Property from a Youngstown, OH estate.
Very good to excellent overall condition with minor to moderate wear and surface scratches, some pieces with other minor to moderate imperfections including slight bending, nicks, one or a few minute dents, and/or worn spots to raised decoration.
