SCHERMERHORN POTTERY, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated four-gallon capacity, ovoid form with slightly flaring rounded rim, incised neck and shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt horizontal triple-bloom flower with foliated stem to each side, "4" below one handle, additional cobalt to handle terminals. John P. Excellent, mostly undamaged condition having a few minute/minor chips to foot edge. Manufacturing flaws including one side having indentation to lower half, a crack to rim, as made.
