SHODA KOHO (JAPANESE, C. 1871-1946) WOODBLOCK PRINT, "Maiko [Lady] in the Rain", pillar print or ko-tanzaku format, featuring a woman in a kimono and holding an umbrella, walking in the rain with a tree and lamp in the background. Artist's seal in the lower right, pencil marked below on mat with "Girl in Rain / Koho", published by Nishinomiya. Housed under glass in a 20th century painted frame, back with gallery label for Cohen's, Inc. of Washington, DC. Circa 1930. 3" x 13" print, 7 5/8" x 18 3/4" OA.

Condition

Very good visual condition with light overall toning, frame with minor wear and a few chips and flakes to paint. Not examined out of frame.
