SIGNED GEORGE FULTON, ALLEGHANY CO., VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with flat-top rounded rim, a pronounced collar with two incised neck rings below. Brushed cobalt "G N. F" in script above a leaf decoration. George N. Fulton (1834-1894) Pottery, Arritts, Alleghany Co., VA. Active 1867-1885. 9 1/4" H, 6" D rim.
