SIGNED "S BELL", STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE SPITTOON, lead- and manganese-glazed over a slip wash, molded eight column form with conforming rim and foot, cut-out drain hole below rim. Incised "S Bell" signature to underside. Solomon Bell (1817-1882), Strasburg, VA. 1850-1880. 4 3/4" HOA, 8 7/8" DOA.

Undamaged, except having some minor scattered glaze flakes.
