SOUTH CAROLINA ESTATE AUCTION BILL OF SALE INCLUDING ENSLAVED PERSONS, double-sided ink on paper, dated December 16th, 1823, titled "A Bill of Sale of the Estate of John Foster Decs.", 95 total entries recording the "Article Sold", "Purchasers Name", and "$/C", including two negro women with child, seven negro boys, and two negro men, each recorded with first name, also a variety of furniture, domestic and farm articles, livestock, and produce. 1823. 13 1/4" x 7 1/2".
Catalogue Note: John Foster (1754-1821) was born in Lunenburg (Charlotte) Co., Virginia. By 1797 he had relocated with his family to Union Co., South Carolina, where he died in 1821. His 1821 probate listed nine enslaved persons. Many of the individuals and other articles at the auction were purchased by his wife, Hannah, and his children. They are identified as purchasers on the document. 

Condition

Good readable condition, with a visible stain to the lower half, horizontal fold creases, one with a pinhole.
