SOUTHERN MIXED-WOOD LADDERBACK SPLIT-BOTTOM HIGH CHAIR,
oak / hickory and probably maple, featuring two-slat back, shaped arms, and slightly splayed legs joined with double-box stretcher. Retains original woven-splint seat and early surface with rich color.
Second half 19th century.
32 1/4" HOA, 12" x 13 1/2" seat.
Provenance: From a Virginia private collection.
Excellent overall condition with minor wear. Cracks to arms and upper splat.
