SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT FALL-FRONT DESK, featuring hinged fall-board concealing a stepped interior, above four graduated thumb-molded drawers with later brass pulls, solid ends, raised on original ogee-bracket feet with a distinctive profile. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retains an old surface with warm color. Possibly Surry Co, VA. Fourth quarter 18th century. 47" H, 40" W, 22" D.

Very good overall condition, typical interior patches at hinge areas, cracks and repairs to foot, but all elements appear to be original, lower drawer with lip patch and small loss, expected wear.
