STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC CUP PLATE, featuring a States series pattern, depicting St. Woolston's, Kildare, Ireland, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", portrait image of George Washington beside Justice, having a partial border featuring some states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 3 1/2" D.
