STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each featuring a States series pattern, depicting Bear Forest, Ireland, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", portrait image of George Washington beside Justice, border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 7 7/8" D.

One undamaged, having minor light wear well rim; one having a T-shaped hairline primarily visible to underside due to decoration, some discoloration to underside with crazing, and scattered wear including to well rim and light short scattered scratches.
