STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring a States series pattern, depicting Gunnersbury House, Middlesex with couple and boat in foreground, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", portrait image of George Washington beside Justice, border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 14 5/8" x 12 1/4".
