STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring the Arms of Massachusetts depicting a shield with a Native American holding a bow and arrow, having "ENSE PETIT PLACIDAM SUB LIBERTATE QUIETAM" printed to ribbon below. Marks include a printed American eagle grasping ribbon with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and impressed "MAYER STOKE" circular mark to underside. Thomas Mayer, Stoke-on-Trent and Longport, England. 1826-1838. 9 5/8" x 7 1/2".
