STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTERS, LOT OF TWO, each featuring a States series pattern, comprising one depicting the Town Hall and Quay at Yarmouth, in Norfolk, England, with a dock, a large building, and ships, and one depicting Gunnersbury House, Middlesex with couple and boat in foreground, each flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", portrait image of George Washington beside Justice, border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars. Each with impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 18 1/2" x 15 5/8".

Condition

Dock with building and ships example having professional restoration to three areas on rim; Gunnersbury House having crack with stapled repair, a hairline to rim and well, and moderate crazing with some discoloration to back; each having some usage wear including scattered, mostly short scratches.
