STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC POTATO BOWL, featuring States series patterns, having central image depicting Bishton Hall, Staffordshire with two fishermen in foreground, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", double border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars, exterior having five cartouches featuring Coghill Hall, Yorkshire, and beaded rim. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 2 1/2" H, 12 5/8" D rim.
