STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC RETICULATED CHESTNUT BASKET AND STAND, featuring the "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE / At Castle Garden New York 16th August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor to interior and exterior. Tray having impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside and basket with impressed crown and "STAFFORDSHIRE" below. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 5 3/4" HOA, stand 12" x 9 5/8".
