STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATE, featuring black transfer image of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from the Picturesque Views of Hudson River series with floral and bird border decoration, depicting the steamboat "PENNSYLVANIA" with small banner reading "N. ORLEANS" and flying an American flag with a charming town in background. Marks to underside include an impressed crown encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE". Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 10 1/2" D.
