STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SOUP TUREEN, featuring the Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia on exterior of base, the Brooklyn Ferry on interior, and the Battle of Bunker Hill on cover, from the Vine Border series. Unmarked. Ralph Stevenson, Cobridge, England. 1810-1835. 8" HOA, base 11" x 8 1/2" rim.

Catalogue Note: According to Mr. Routson (the former owner of the tureen), this is an extremely rare piece, not only because of its distinctive form but also because of the three views presented on the tureen. Mr. Routson also noted additional provenance information reporting "the Thornton's purchased the tureen from a home in Ohio."

Manufacturing glaze imperfection to finial, as made.
