STAFFORDSHIRE CHINOISERIE MOTIF TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PARTIAL TWO-PIECE SMOKER'S SET,
comprising a candlestick (cover), a tobacco jar (base), and a tobacco press/weight having screw top snuff top which fits into base, featuring a continuous transfer scene including an exotic structure with a couple sitting at a table, the woman playing a lute, and two figures in a boat with arched bridge and buildings in background.
First half 19th century.
