STAFFORDSHIRE HAND-PAINTED FIGURAL CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF EIGHT,
each having polychrome enamel decorations, comprising a spill vase pair featuring a tiger and deer, a pair of standing whippets with a rabbit in its mouth, two figural houses including a bank and a pastille burner, and two couples including one sitting pair having "Rigs O Barley" hand-brushed below and royal pair, possibly Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Unmarked.
Second half 19th century.

Bank and one whippet undamaged; royal couple mostly undamaged except having some scattered glaze wear to heads and minute hole to front, probably as made; one whippet having minor hairline encircling back leg; pastille burner having minor chip to interior back; "Rigs O Barley" gentleman having poor restoration and some loss to both hands; one spill vase having an approximately 2" L hairline to base, some losses including one deer antler and tiger with loss of one leg; remaining vase with some scattered exfoliation to back.
