STAFFORDSHIRE NORTH AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED ARCTIC MOTIF CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring blue transfer "ARCTIC SCENERY", as printed to underside, depicting a snowy, frozen scene with explorers and indigenous people in foreground, the ships "Griper" and "Hecla" in background, having alternating cartouches to rim featuring a boy on an ostrich and a tiger with her cubs. Possibly Thomas Godwin, Burslem, England. Mid 19th century. 21 3/4" x 17 7/8".

Mostly undamaged, except having a flake to back rim.
