STAMPED "BACHER & KERN, / WINCHESTER VA.", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE STORAGE JAR, unusual randomly applied lead- and copper-glazed exterior with areas left unglazed, fully glazed interior, approximately half-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, rounded, galleried rim, two incised medial rings, and partially glazed base with stamp. Anthony Weis Bacher/Backer/Baecher (1824-1889) and Adam Kern, Winchester, VA. 1882-1883. 7 3/4" H, 5" D rim.
