STAMPED NICKEL-PLATE BRASS LARGE HEATER FONT AND BASE, globular form with heavy ornamentation in scrolls and foliage, side-refill feature, base fitted with a band secured by three set screws; fitted on a nickel-plated cast-iron square-form very ornate base with two handles and splayed paw feet. Fitted with a period burner, a colorless MacBeth No. 66 Pearl Glass chimney, and a colorless shade with acid-etched tiny honeycomb and florette pattern, top with flared-out and crimped rim. Possibly Standard Lighting Company. Fourth quarter 19th century. 21 3/4" H to top of shade, 8 3/4" H to top of shade holder, 8 3/4" D base. Base 8" H to top of handles, 15 1/4" x 13 1/4". Shade 10 3/4" H, 6 3/4" D fitter.
Excellent condition with expected wear, some scattered losses to nickel-plating, lacking one set screw for shade. Burner lacking flame spreader, chimney and shade undamaged.
